Global Citizen's mission is to fight inequality, protect our planet and end extreme poverty by 2030. This year's Global Citizen Festival took place on September 23rd and attracted a crowd of over 60,000. The event featured music from Stevie Wonder, Green Day, The Lumineers and more!
Global activists from around the world gave speeches about what they are doing to end global poverty and accomplish the other #GlobalGoals.
Senator Chuck Schumer, the Senate's minority leader from New York spoke about his commitment to protect funding for foreign assistance and Dr. Jane Goodall, UN Ambassador for Peace spoke about her action to save the planet and what is happening to it due to climate change.
